Harvey Binford

Harvey Binford, age 79, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at his residence. He was born January 31, 1934 in Henry County, Indiana to the late Woodford H. and Osle (Rinn) Binford.

The most important thing in Harvey's life was his family who he loved very much. He enjoyed writing music and playing guitar for the church. Harvey loved the Lord and was a 50 year member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church. Harvey retired from Ingersoll Steel Company following 32 years of service and was a veteran of the Indiana National Guard. He also enjoyed relaxing on his back porch and piddling in the garage.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Martha (Graham) Binford of New Castle; children, Sandra (Michael) Martt of New Castle, Randy (Debbie) Binford of New Castle, Anthony Binford of Hagerstown, Vickie (Herbert) Taylor of Spiceland, Robert (Tonya) Binford of New Castle and Joella "Jody" Binford of New Castle; eleven grandchildren, Michelle, Lori, Richie, Amber, Jamie, Anthony II, Nikki, Amy Jo, Bobby II , Adam and David all of New Castle; twenty one, great grandchildren; brother, Franklin "Pete" (Lois) Binford of New Castle; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Vera Smith, Helena Thompson, Leon Moses and Barbara Catron.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 30, 2013 at the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in New Castle with Pastor Donnie Silvers officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens.
