Hazel Posey

Hazel Posey, 81, a resident of Knightstown passed away unexpectedly Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. She was born March 12, 1930 in Wetmore, Kansas to the late Estel and Hallie (Spiker) Plank.

She had been employed at Western Electric in Indianapolis for 14 years. Mrs. Posey had baked cakes and worked as a caterer for many years. She was a member of the Knightstown Christian Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, antiques and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons: Rick (wife: Mary) Sipes of Muncie, Mark Posey of Knightstown, Randy (wife: Jayana) Posey of Lewisville and Brett (wife: Cindy) Posey of Spiceland; a daughter: Terri Sipes of Knightstown; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband: Ora F. Sipes; her second husband: Frederick Eugene Posey and 2 brothers: Gary and Danny Plank.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Richard Thayer officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at the funeral home.
