Helen Burke

Helen Burke, age 76, of New Castle, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Henry County Hospital. She was born November 16, 1932 in Monticello, Kentucky.

She had been employed at RCA Corporation in Indianapolis and New Castle Community School System for several years. She retired from Heritage House in New Castle after 30 years of service. Helen was a member of GALS and attended Grand Ave. Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, painting and gardening.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Carl Burke of New Castle, three daughters, Karian Dishman of New Castle, Sharian (husband, James) Murphy of New Castle and Mary (husband, Carl) Hoffman of Noblesville; grandchildren, Jason (wife, Nancy) Dishman, Chris (wife, Amber) Dishman, Jennifer (husband Brian) Dudley, Eric (wife, Crystal) Burke, Brittney (husband, Dustin) Sorrell; great grandchildren, Ashley, Zachary, and Chloe Dishman, Jakob Dudley, Ceaira and Destini Sorrell, Hunter and Kyleigh Burke; brother, James (wife, Helen “Chris”) Criswell of New Castle; sister-in-law, Loma Criswell of New Castle; cousins, Julene Parker and Lois Troxell both of Monticello, Kentucky .

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ralph Criswell.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 28, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Charles Dugger officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery.
