Helen Faye Hall

Helen Faye Hall, a former resident of New Castle, died on Thursday, July 11, 2013 in Hendersonville, NC. She was born August 15, 1916 in Sanburn, Indiana, the daughter of the late Charlie and Zira Harp of New Castle. She was the widow of the late Homer V. Hall

Helen was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of New Castle and an active member of the Ithai Class. She enjoyed her church, traveling, gardening and spending time with family and grandchildren. She loved New Castle and no matter where she lived, Helen wanted to return to the town she loved best. Helen was treasurer of New Castle Brotherhood & Sisterhood and Royal Neighbors of America. Helen also belonged to the Friends of the Library of New Castle.

Helen is survived by daughters, Joyce Marie Crandall (Richard) and Janice Ellen Spicka (Richard) of Hendersonville, NC; a son, Homer Mark Hall (Danille) of Hagerstown, MD; five grandchildren, Dee Ann
Boone of Sanford, Fl, Julie Staton of Lenior, NC, Matthew Crandall of Greenville, SC, Gregory Spicka of Littleton, CO and Douglas Spicka, of Las Vegas, NV; Helen also has nine great-grandchildren, Tyler and Riggs Serwanski of Hudson, NC, Benjamin Fries of Sanford, Fl and Thackston and Wyatt Crandall of Greenville, SC, Ava and Garen Spicka of Las Vegas, NV, Erin and Jacob Spicka of Littleton, CO and one great-great granddaughter, Kenzey Serwanski! Helen has one brother, Charles Harp of Hawthorne, NV.

Two sisters, Hazel Flinn and Eunice Reuter and granddaughter, Darcy Ann Marie Spicka preceded Helen in death.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Jerry Ingalls of First Baptist Church officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the First Baptist Church, 709 S.
