Helen H. Himes

Helen H. Himes, 95, of New Castle passed away Friday, April 26, 2013 at Henry County Hospital. She was born March 21, 1918 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Ralph J. and Nellie A. (Payne) Hudson.

She retired from Scotten & Hinshaw Law Firm in New Castle and was formerly employed at World Bestos Corporation and Lifeline of Indiana for 31 years. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church and also belonged to the Agenda Literary Club and Bridge Club. An avid golfer she also enjoyed painting.

Survivors include her husband of 74 years: Horace P. Himes; one daughter: Judith (husband, Mendon) Conley of New Castle; four grandchildren: Stephen (wife, Denise) Himes of Tampa, Florida; Kerri (husband, Francisco) Hernandez of White, Georgia; Cody Himes and Heather Himes, both of New Castle; several great grandchildren; brother: John T. (wife, Helen) Hudson of Pueblo, Colorado; sister: Ida (husband, Dr. Ted) Kirby of Greenfield; sister-in-law: Mary Lou Hufford of New Castle; and several nieces & nephews.

There will be no public services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Services in New Castle.
