Helen Marie Oathout

Helen Marie Oathout, 90, of Knightstown, known to everyone as “Granny”, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born March 22, 1926 in Bethany, IL the daughter of William Alexander and Myrtle Rose (Davis) Marshall.

Helen worked at Mayhill Publications in Knightstown for 36 years. She was very family oriented. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Paula K. Jones of Muncie; four grandchildren, Michael (Michelle) Schombert of Muncie, Chris (Diana) Schombert of Knightstown, Greg (Billie) Schombert of Knightstown and Keaira (Michael) Perry; great grandchildren, Cassie Crouch, Ryan Crouch, Courtney (Willis) Clark, Zac Schombert, Holly (Daniel) Montgomery, C.J. Schombert, Sarah Jo Schombert, Luke Schombert, Kendra Marrs, Maggie Smith, Marissa Sullivan, Brodi Bertram, Brooklyn Bertram, Emma Smalley, Harleigh and Lanee Perry; two great-great grandchildren, Laina Clark and Corbin Lee Montgomery; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Oathout; three brothers, Howard, Wilmer and Delmar Marshall; son-in-law, Larry Jones.

Services will be at 1:00 PM Friday, July 1, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with David Bonne officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery.
