Helen Sue Stewart

Helen “Sue” Stewart, age 62 of New Castle went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at IU Medical Center in Indianapolis. She was born December 27, 1948 in Susie, Kentucky to the late Sherman and Ermon (Massengale) Brown.

She retired from New Castle School Corporation where she worked as a teacher’s aid and later as a custodian. She was a member of Jackson Park Baptist Church in Muncie. Sue enjoyed Vacation Bible School, missionary trips to Belize, and also working with her husband at Ridge Auction.

Survivors include her husband, Robert E. Stewart, Jr. of New Castle; three sons, Dewayne E. (wife, Lesa) Stewart of Cumming, GA, Noel G. (wife, Holly) Stewart of Cumming, GA and Kelly J (wife, Sharon) Stewart of Springport; nine grandchildren, Sarah (husband, Robbie) Huesman of New Castle, Billy (wife, Vivi) Stewart of Norcross, GA, Corina Stewart of Athens, GA, Adam Stewart of Cumming, GA, Shelby, Morgan and Mason Stewart all of Cumming, GA, Carissa and J.P. Stewart of Springport; four great grandchildren, Lainie, Little Robbie, Jackson and Lilly Huesman all of New Castle; two sisters, Lorene (husband, Larry) Ebbing of Oxford, OH and Betty (husband, Charles) Neal of Monticello, KY; brother, Jerry (wife, Cheryl) Brown of New Castle; several nieces and nephews; her beloved dog, Regan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Oren Brown; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Robert and Velma Stewart.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 5, 2011 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Paul Kirk officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2011 at the funeral home.
