Helen L. Wilson, age 93, of Spiceland, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Henry County Hospital following a brief illness. She was born October 13, 1918 to the late Lloyd Payne and Winifred Catherine (Hoover) Huff.
She graduated from the Spiceland Academy in 1936 and Muncie Business School. She retired from Ameriana Savings Bank, formerly Henry County Savings and Loan, after 45 years of service. A life long member of the Spiceland Friends Church, she loved spending time with grandchildren, enjoyed gardening, and loved collecting antiques.
Survivors include a daughter, Shari (husband, Carl) Breeding of New Castle; grandchildren, Tom (wife, Linda) Swenson of Georgia, Todd Garner of Spiceland and Kristi (husband, Kim) Williamson of New Castle; step grandchildren, Jim (wife, Mary) Breeding of Alabama and Chad (wife, Angie) Breeding of New Castle; two great grandchildren, Kenzi Williamson and Niah Williamson; two step great- grandchildren, Rachel Breeding and Hannah Breeding; a sister, Harriett Armstrong of Spiceland; one niece; five nephews, and five great nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George William Wilson in 1986; a sister, Peggy Wake in 1974.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery.
