Herman Groce

Herman Groce, Jr., age 66, of New Castle, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 at his residence. He was born January 6, 1948 in New Castle, Indiana to Herman Groce, Sr. of New Castle and the late Lucy (Purvis) Groce.

He retired from Outokumpu in 2009 following 44 years of service. He loved NASCAR, riding his Harley and spending time with his kids and grandkids.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 20 years, Faith (Lewman) Groce of New Castle; children, Jason (Heather) Groce of Spiceland, Amber (Adam) Chambers of Greenwood, Anessa (Jeremy) Meadows of Austin, TX, Zack Medford of Muncie, Jessie (Mo) Mahmoudi of Greenfield, David (Lisa) Fitzpatrick of KY; grandchildren, Megan, Erin, and Alex Groce, Daisy Silvers, Tristan Chambers, Quentin Kovach, Sunny and Sam Fitzpatrick; one great granddaughter, Addison Riggs; siblings, Phyllis (Jim) Koger of Muncie, Wanda (Larry) Williams of Avon, Ron (Margene) Groce of New Castle and Patty Groce of High Point, NC; sister-in-law, Gloria (Frank) Bowling of New Castle; brother-in-law, Steve Lewman of Lewisville; mother-in-law, Opal Lewman of Lewisville; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Elmo Lewman; grandson, Trace Chambers; nephew, Daniel Groce.
