Hilda L. Kassen, 102, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Addison Place in New Castle. She was born on April 17, 1921 to the late George and Lois (Wynn) Lineback.
She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. Hilda and her late husband Robert helped run Kamp Modoc and started Kassen Kamp in Centerville. She was also the general manager and marketing director at Paul Harris for many years. Hilda loved camping, traveling and was an avid NASCAR and country music fan.
Left to cherish her memory are sons, Stephen Kassen, John (Dee) Kassen; grandchildren, Kelli (Matthew) Hubbard; step grandchildren, Stephen (Mary Beth) Darnell, Kenny (Jennifer) Darnell, Joe (Lynn) Darnell, Julie (Al) Wiseman; great grandchildren, Hayden and Hyat Hubbard; step great grandchildren, Brandon (Courtney) Darnell; step great-great grandchild, Lily Rae Darnell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, her loving husband, Robert E. Kassen whom she lost in 2003; daughter-in-law, Jane Kassen; sisters-in-law, Mirman Charles, Eva Jones and Margert McFarland.
Private services were held with burial at South Mound Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Condolences and memories of Hilda may be shared at www.hinsey-brown.com .
