IdaBelle Caldwell

IdaBelle Caldwell, 95, of New Castle, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at her residence. She was born November 23, 1913 in Covington, KY the daughter of Reverend John and Carrie (Mann) Ashcraft.

She was a dedicated housewife and mother. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church since 1934, a circle leader at the church and worked on mission projects. She enjoyed family dinners, canning food, and spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great granddaughter. IdaBelle was a caring person and always willing to help people.

She is survived by three daughters: Dorothy (husband: Kay) Byers of New Castle; Betty McGee of New Castle; Catherine (husband: Wallace) Raley of Green Valley, AZ; two sons: William (wife: Linda) Caldwell, Jr. of Cincinnati and Steve (wife: Carolyn) Caldwell of New Castle; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; a sister: Lois (husband: Wilford) Hodges of Florence, KY; sister-in-law: Loretta Poe of Owenton, KY; two nephews and one niece.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: William Caldwell; granddaughter: Kelly Caldwell; brother: Eldon Ashcraft; son-in-law: Max McGee.

Services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, February 9, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverends Jack Hannum and Charles Dugger officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-6 PM Sunday, February 8, 2009 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church.
