Imogene Catt, age 80, a resident of Addison House of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2010 following a long illness. She was born August 23, 1929 in New Castle, the daughter of the late George and Lutie (Gulley) Sparks.
She has been married to her husband, Sherman Catt, Jr. for 63 years. Imogene graduated in 1947 from New Castle High School. She had worked at Citizens State Bank, at the Auditor's and Treasurer's office at the Henry County Court House from which she retired from the court house. She was a member of the First Friends Meeting in New Castle.
Survivors include her husband, Sherman Catt, Jr.; a son, John (wife, Liz) Catt; a daughter, Susan Cross; grandchildren, Tammy (husband, Mark) Eastridge, Cindi (husband, Bryan) Rottinghaus, Todd Jarrett, Adrianne (husband, Chris) Woolard all of New Castle; great grandchildren, Madison Eastridge, Tyler Jarrett, Spencer and Shelby Rottinghaus, Avery Catt, Carrington Woolard; a niece, Connie (husband, Gene) Cross; great nieces.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruby Murray, Hazel Johnson, Nannie Dye; a grandson, Tadd Jarrett.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 20, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Kurt Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery.
