Ina D. Brewster, age 91, of New Castle, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017 at her home following a lengthy illness. She was born March 25, 1926 in Monticello, Kentucky to the late Thomas and Mattie (Dick) Correll.
Ina retired from the State Hospital in 1982. She loved to cook and always had treats ready for anyone who came to visit. Ina and her husband, Albert loved to fish. They spent summers in Manistee, Michigan and spent several winters in Florida.
She is survived by her husband of over 70 years, Albert Brewster; daughters, Cheryl (Gordon) Cook of Markleville, Sandra (Mike) Brandt of New Castle, Norma (Greg) Brenneman of New Castle and Darlene White of FL; grandchildren, Lisa Peckham of Greenfield, Gregg Cook of Greenwood, Christa Acton of Columbus, Chuck Brenneman of Straughn, Tricia Edwards of Indianapolis and Lisa McLain of New Castle; great grandchildren, Bryan Peckham, Ana Elizabeth and Carissa-Anne Cook, Mia and Alex Brandt, Larissa and Caroline Brenneman, Taylor Edwards and Brianna Heffernan; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Charles Hildebrandt.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Nova Thompson and Tella Morrow; brothers, Odie, Wendell, James and Homer Correll.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Randy Brewster and Pastor Denny Neal officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
