Ina Vestal, 90, of New Castle, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 28, 2011 while at Glen Oaks Health Campus. She was born April 5, 1920 in Shelby County, a daughter of the late Jesse and Mary (Ray) Mourey.
A resident of New Castle since 1942, she worked retired from Comfy Togs Garment Factory in New Castle after several years of employment. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in New Castle for over 50 years and enjoyed bowling, sewing and knitting. Ina loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Shirley (husband, Bill) Bright and Barbara (husband, David) Cox, both of New Castle; grandchildren, Penney (husband, Bruce) McLaren of Muncie, Billy (wife, Delia) Bright of FL, Julie (husband, Jim) Greenwood of New Castle, Alan (wife, Lisa) Cox of Indianapolis; great grandchildren, Stephanie (husband, Derek) Grubbs, Matthew (wife, Rebekah) Roberts, David Bright, Mitchell Smith, Courtney Cox, Ashley Cox, Mason Bogue and Alan Michael Greenwood; and a great-great granddaughter, Stella Michelle Grubbs. Also, three sisters, Charlotte Nibarger of Hartford City, Velma Smith of Farmland, and Betty Lou Townsend of Myrtle Beach, SC; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kirby Vestal in 1993; two sisters, Emma Marie DeWitt and Flora Gray, three brothers, James, Frank, and Eugene Mourey.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2011 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with the Reverend Jerry Ingalls officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011 at the funeral home.
