Irene Craig, 87 went home to be with the Lord Sunday morning, November 13, 2022 at Allison Meadows in Fishers. She was born August 17, 1935 in Andersonville, IN to the late Frank and Zelma (Holden) Ryckman.
A graduate of Kennard High School, Irene had previously been employed at Knightstown Soldiers and Sailors Home. More recently, she served as secretary of Kennard Christian Church. A farmwife and homemaker, Irene enjoyed reading her Bible, cooking and hosting family dinners as well as vacationing with her siblings. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons: David (Tammy) Craig of Fortville and Gary (Becky) Craig of Anderson; three grandchildren: Amber Craig (Tracy Coles) of Anderson, Brandon Craig and Alex (Laura) Craig of Port Charlotte, FL; five great-grandchildren; a brother: John (Jeanie) Ryckman of Anderson; a sister: Margie (Jim) Boughton of Fortville; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years: LeRoy Craig; a sister: Juanita Shirley; and a brother: Bob Ryckman.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Steve Arnett officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the donor’s favorite charity.
