Isaac Hollingsworth

August 31, 1918 — June 11, 2009

Isaac L. Hollingsworth, age 90, of Springport, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. He was born August 31, 1918 in Mt. Summit to the late Ollie and Bertha (Brown) Hollingsworth.

Isaac was a graduate of Mt. Summit High School. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years and an Elder and oldest member of the Springport Christian Church and had served on the board for many years. He enjoyed fishing, loved his church league softball and bowling teams. Isaac also enjoyed all outdoor sports and was very skilled athletically.

Survivors include his daughters: Rosalind A. (husband: Richard) Wilson and Carolyn K. May; three grandchildren: Lorinda (husband: Doug) Conley of Ft. Myers, FL, Deborah Lynn Wilson-Arndtson (husband: Jon) of Barrington, IL and Lloyd Douglas (wife: Cynthia) May of Springport; three great grandchildren: Dustin May of Oakville, IN, Joshua May and Vanessa May of Springport; one great-great grandchild: Cameron Sharp-May of New Castle; several nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law: Mendel Bunner of Springport; special friend: Mildred Jester.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years; Sarah Margaret (Bunner) Hollingsworth; sisters: Marie Warren and Ruth Dewitt; son-in-law: Jerry D. May.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Springport Christian Church in Springport with Pastor Rick Fennel officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Springport. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. A Masonic Service will held at 8:00 p.m. Monday. Memorial contributions may be given to the Springport Christian Church or the American Cancer Society with envelopes available at the funeral home.
