Ivan “Wade” Flowers, 65, of New Castle passed away unexpectedly at his residence Monday, November 29, 2021. He was born April 13, 1956 in Noblesville, Indiana, to the late James Hollis and Clara V. “Granny” (Defoe) Flowers.
He was a 1975 graduate of Shenandoah High School and worked for Best Way Disposal Waste Management for over 20 years. He was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church. Wade had a great sense of humor and enjoyed cooking, riding his motorcycle and partying. He enjoyed all types of sports, especially baseball.
Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Lea Ann (King) Flowers; children, Haley Noel Flowers, Larissa Ann Plymate and Anthony Plymate, all of Kennard; siblings, Angela Flowers of Springlake, North Carolina, Arlene Kay (David N.) Kotkoff of New Castle and Joyce Flowers of New Castle; nieces & nephews, Stephanie (Jason) Bowen of New Castle, Stacie (companion, Michael Ridenour) Flowers of New Castle, Joshua Patrick (Jennifer Hope) Stigall of Mooreland, Patricia Jo (Bryant) Taylor of Middletown, Chasity Renay (Wes) Jones of Shirley and Mindy (Ronnie) Williams; great nieces & nephews, Brendan, Christian, Noah, and Elijah Bowen of New Castle, Alyssa and Aiden Flowers of New Castle, Jordan, Jaylan, Jaxson and Joslyn Stigall all of Mooreland, Ethan and Ava Taylor of Middletown, Aleyna Sharritts, and Tyler Jones of Shirley. Wade was also a father figure to Tommy Grider, Bobby Grider, Becky Grider and Jessica Grider and a grandpa figure to Kaitlyn Beaver.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a great niece, Kaytlyn Renay Hampton; and a brother-in-law Gerald Thomas.
Services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Charles Dugger officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. Friday until time of services at the funeral home.
