Jack R. Curtis, 80, of Mooreland passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017 at his residence. He was born December 4, 1937 in Muncie to the late John Jackson and Lillie May (Humes) Curtis.
Jack was a mechanic and service manager at the New Castle Ford garage and later worked at Chrysler retiring after more than 27 years as a journeyman. Following that, he owned and operated the Mooreland Marathon Service Station. He was an avid fan of the Indiana Pacers and enjoyed his golf carts and classic cars. Most of all, Jack loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his sons, Jim (Ruth) Curtis of Mooreland, Jerry Curtis of Mooreland and Jeff (Colleen) Curtis of New Castle; grandchildren, Jason Curtis of New Castle, John (Ely) Curtis of Columbus, OH and Jodi Curtis (fiancé, Levi Carrender) of New Castle; great grandchildren, Jacquelyn “Jackie” Curtis, Kaysen Curtis, Madelyn “Maddie” Curtis; siblings, Bob (Ann) Curtis of Luray, Marion Curtis of Muncie, Melvin (Lynn) Curtis of Luray, John (Barbara) Curtis of New Lisbon, Tony (Rose) Curtis of Sulphur Springs, Beth Hunt of Tennessee and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Wilma “Fay” Curtis; siblings, Bill, Marvin, Philip Curtis, Stella Tucker, Linda Hicks and Trudy Hampton.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow at Mooreland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. You may express condolences or share a memory of Jack at
