Jama Lynette Wisehart

Jama Lynette Wisehart, 56, of New Castle, passed away Friday, February 10, 2017 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born September 26, 1960 in Greensburg a daughter of James P. Gregory and Carol (Lenz) Prosser.

Jama was a 1978 graduate of Knightstown High School and then lived in Shipshewana for 10 years before moving to New Castle in 1989 with her husband. She loved vacationing, shopping, crafts, her dogs, and sitting on her front porch. She attended Kennard Friends Church while growing up and currently attended Memorial Wesleyan Church. Jama loved antiques and had an antique booth in Cambridge City. She enjoyed collecting country vintage and Shabby Chic items. Jama was a loving wife and best friend to many.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Robin L. Wisehart of New Castle; mother, Carol J. Prosser of New Castle; sisters, Robin (Jeff) Pennington, Carol Gregory and Allison (David) Todd all of New Castle; stepmother, Fran Gregory; nieces and nephews, Kory Appleby, Whitney Appleby, Brittany (Chris) Chesher and several great nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Timmy (Tim) Bundy; nieces, Holly McCoy and Kaycie (Shawn) Laughner; very special cousins, Ciara and Raegan Dupke; great uncle, Pastor James Judd; and special friend, Danny Boatright

She was preceded in death by her father, James Gregory; step-father, Lawrence “Kenny” Prosser; great aunt, Vernia Judd; and childhood friend, Cathy Arnett.

Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastors Steve Arnett, Paul Kirk and James Judd officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens.
