James A. Cotner Sr., 78, of New Castle passed away Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Henry County Hospital following an extended illness. He was born May 31, 1930 in Springfield, OH, a son of the late Russell R. and Mary Christmas (Hill) Cotner.
He owned and operated Cotner’s Exterminating for over ten years, retiring in 1989. He has also worked at Chrysler Corporation, was a print and pressman at Modernfold Industries, and was a television repairman at Crouch’s T.V. and Appliance Repair on 14th Street in New Castle.
He is survived by two daughters, Bonnie (husband, Jim) Asberry of New Castle and Brenda Musson of Danville, IL; two sons, Jimmy (wife, Sherry) Cotner of Mooreland and Ronnie (wife, Terry) Cotner of Bloomport; fourteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Cotner on April 10, 2009; his parents; a brother, Jack Cotner and a sister, Betty Brodek.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Pastor Jeff Jaco and Reverend Tim Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens in New Castle. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2009 at the funeral home.
