James B. Fisher, 88, a lifelong resident of New Castle passed away Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Hickory Creek of New Castle. He was born March 25, 1921 in New Castle, a son of the late Robert E. and Imogene (Millikan) Fisher.
James was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during WWII. He had been employed by Dana Corporation (formerly Perfect Circle) and retired in 1982 following 40 years of service. James attended the First Baptist Church in New Castle. An avid basketball fan, he loved attending the New Castle Trojan games.
Survivors include his wife: Helen M. Fisher of New Castle; his daughter: Diane Sweeney of Indianapolis; granddaughter: Katherine (husband: Mark) Jones of Indianapolis: two great grandsons: Adam and Justin Jones both of Indianapolis.
James was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be private with burial in Batson Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be given to the Henry County Humane Society with envelopes available at the funeral home. Services are entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Online condolences may be expressed at
