James A. Lane, 75, of New Castle, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Sugar Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Greenfield. He was born August 25, 1941 in New Castle, the son of the late Charles H. and Cora E. (Bowne) Lane.
Jim graduated from New Castle Chrysler High School in 1960 and then worked for the high school for five years. He was a retired factory worker, having worked with various companies. Jim was a truck driver for the City of New Castle for 10 years. He was also a city water meter reader, trash pick-up and worked in various other departments of the city. He attended Turning Point Church in New Castle.
He is survived by a daughter, Pamela Lane of Middletown; a sister, Kathleen Barrett of New Castle; a sister-in-law, Marie Lane of Westport; one aunt, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Delbert and Charles Lane; sister-in-law, Dorothy Lane; and a brother-in-law, Bob Barrett.
Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rev. Matt Perdue, burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 AM to 2 PM Thursday, prior to the service.
