James Henry “Johnny” Lloyd, 66, of Spiceland passed away Saturday morning, May 24, 2014 at Henry County Hospital. He was born December 22, 1947 in New Castle, a son of the late James Ralph and Sarah Elizabeth (Messick) Lloyd.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Viet Nam War. He retired from Chrysler Corporation in 2007 after 25 years of service. James had also worked at Kraft Foods in Shirley and Greenfield Builders. He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed mushroom hunting, boating, walking, hiking, camping and being outdoors.
Survivors include his wife: Frieda (Stacey) Lloyd, whom he married March 2, 1967; six daughters: Angela (Chris) Protsman, Sandy Fairchild (partner: Jeff Wall), Lisa Lloyd (partner: Bill Gardner), Carolyn (Michael) Six, Elizabeth Lloyd (partner: Joshua Frost) and Jennifer Matney, all of Spiceland; fourteen grandchildren: Joshua, Kayla, Paige, Kira, Jared, Seth, Chase, Kelsey, Cannon, Joah, Ashlyn, Hailey, Dennis and Corbin; one great grandson: Jakob; two sisters: Nancy Hancock and Sally (James) Dubois; one brother: Robert (Pam) Lloyd; and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend George Maloyed, Jr. officiating.
