James "Jim" Allen Locker

James “Jim” Allen Locker, age 66, of Stone Mountain, Georgia and formerly of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Columbia Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, Georgia. He was born December 18, 1946 in Henry County the son of R. David and Alouise (Gauker) Locker.
A 1965 graduate of Walter P. Chrysler High School, he served in the United States Air Force from 1971-1973. He had worked at Chrysler Corporation as a die maker and Westinghouse in Muncie. He retired from the US Postal Service in Muncie, where he had over 15 years of perfect attendance. He thoroughly enjoyed living in Georgia, especially enjoying the sunshine. In recent years, he enjoyed trips to the Philippines and Barbados with his son, Scott.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, J. Scott Locker of Stone Mountain, GA with whom he had lived for the past 10 years, after suffering a stroke in 2001; brother, Dave Locker of Hardeeville, SC; sister, Sandy (Gary) Murray of New Castle; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray David Locker and Alouise (Gauker) Locker.
Graveside services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery in New Castle. Arrangements are entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. You may share online condolences or share a memory of Jim at www.hinsey-brown.com .
