James F.W. Neal

James F.W. “Jim” Neal, 77, formerly of New Castle, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at home in Fredericktown, MO. He was born March 8, 1948, in New Castle, to the late Dewey Floyd and Ella Lawrence (Huckaby) Neal.

A 1967 graduate of Union High School in Modoc, Jim worked at Chrysler Corp. in New Castle, Kemper Cabinets in Richmond, before retiring from Gilster-Marylee Corp. in Missouri. He enjoyed fishing, especially with his good friend, Dallas Denney, enjoyed reading, and being with his family. He grew up going to the First Apostolic Church in New Castle and was a member there for many years.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his significant other of over 34 years, Lillian Davis of Fredericktown, MO; a daughter, Marquita Berry of Rock Hill, SC; a son, Jeremy Neal of Rock Hill, SC; grandchildren, Trinity Ross (Aleeyah) Stafford of Rock Hill, SC, Kaci (Zachary) Sullivan of Pageland, SC; Ryan Neal of Pageland, SC; great grandchildren, Prosper Uriah-Creed Stafford, Dakin Jamie-Lee Stafford, Ledger Koa-Rae Stafford, Lyanna Jade Stafford, Arabella, Alayna, and Everleigh Sullivan; a sister, Rosemary Disbro of New Castle; a brother, Victor (Tammy) Neal of Hagerstown; several nieces and nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, James Arnette Stafford; great grandson, Noah Sullivan; a brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Annette Neal; a brother-in-law, Terry Disbro.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 18, 2025, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. noon until the time of service at the funeral home.
