James W. Pope

James Pope, 73, of Hagerstown, passed away on Friday January 31, 2025, at Ambassador Healthcare in Centerville. He was born August 10, 1951, in Henry County to the late James and Lillie (Brewster) Pope.

Hard working is the best way to describe James, he owned several small businesses from recycling to mowing yards. He also Ministered at several churches over the years and Dispatched for the New Castle Police Department.

James is survived by his sisters, Linda Brown and Jewell Pope; along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents James is preceded in death by his wife, Jeannie Pope; siblings, Kenneth Pope, Alma Abell, Annie Starling, Patricia Stinson and Margie Pope.

Services will be on Wednesday February 5, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Hagerstown. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service.
