James E. Richmond, 57, of Carthage, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born November 9, 1959 in Rushville to Bobby and Mertie (Dyer) Richmond.
James was a great woodworker and framer and had helped build many houses. He enjoyed NASCAR, George Jones, westerns, riding around town, Dallas Cowboys, but mostly spending time with his family and friends. James had worked at Richardson Lumber for many years then later worked at Trautmann Hardwoods.
He is survived by his mother, Mertie Richmond of Carthage; siblings, Rayburn Richmond of Carthage, Marketta (Ron) Richmond-Humes of Spiceland, Brenda Richmond of Woodville, OH, Shelle Richmond of Carthage, Joe (Jeri) Richmond of Carthage; nieces and nephews, Brittney Schroeder, Joni Lawson, Anna Richmond, Robert Richmond and Bobby Richmond; three great nieces, Khloe Schroeder, Ellie Lawson and Mallorie Graham; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Richmond.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Reverend Gene Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Carthage Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 1 at the funeral home.
