James B. “Bennie” Sanders, 84, of Carthage, passed Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born December 14, 1927 in Carthage, a son of the late Felix and Colora (Whitfield) Sanders.
Bennie was a Carthage Deputy Marshal and worked for the Carthage Street Department.
He was a truck driver/mechanic for Foust Farms and train conductor/engineer for the CKS Railroad. He also enjoyed going fishing.
He leaves to cherish his memory sons: Robert (Lucy) Stevens of New Castle, Mike (Debbie) Williams of Las Vegas, NV and James E. (Shelley) Sanders of Greenfield; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patty Sanders; a son: Allen Sanders; two infant twin children; four brothers and one sister.
Services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, March 2, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor John Reeding officiating. Burial will follow in Carthage Cemetery.
