Jane Elizabeth Hernly

Jane Elizabeth Hernly, 100, of New Castle, passed away Monday, May 21, 2012 at Glen Oaks Health Campus. She was born May 16, 1912 in Jeffersonville, IN the daughter of Maurice and Helen (Thornton) Watson.
Jane had managed the Yards of Yarn fabric shop in Mt. Summit. She was a member of the Delta Beta Tau Society, Know Your Neighbor Club and a former avid bridge player.
She is survived by a son: Stephen A. (Nancy) Hernly of New Castle; two grandchildren: Susan Wallen and Chris Hernly both of New Castle; 3 great grandchildren: Tyler Wallen, Devon Hernly, and Lucas Hernly all of New Castle; one great-great grandson: Zachariah Wallen; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: George H. Hernly in 1966; three brothers: John, Thornton and Morris Watson, Jr.
Services will be at 1:00 PM Friday, May 25, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Thursday. You may express a condolence or share a memory of Jane at www.hinsey-brown.com .
