Jane A. Matlock

Jane Ann Matlock, 67, of Knightstown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2025 following an extended illness. She was born in Rushville, Indiana on September 6, 1957 the daughter of Robert and Wanda Schaeffer Winters.  

Jane graduated from Knightstown High School in 1975. She was an amazing wife, mom, sister and friend, but her favorite title was Nana. She loved watching her husband, sons, and grandchildren play sports. Jane also loved shopping, walking, cooking, keeping busy, and talking with anyone and everyone she saw. She loved animals and being outside. She loved her job and her co-workers at Dr. Adams dentist office and then for Knightstown Dental and New Castle Dental for over 40 years. Jane loved watching sports, especially the Yankees.  

She leaves behind her husband of 45 years Mel, 2 sons, Rob (Jessie) and Ross (Kelly); four grandchildren, Melanie, Madison, Makenna, and Marshall; her sister, Susan (Jeff) Van Hoy; brothers, Bob (Janice) Schaeffer and Eric Winters; and many nieces and nephews.  

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Greg Allan Winters; step father, Mack Winters; sister-in-law, Tracy Winters; and brother-in-law, Mike Matlock.  

Services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Joe McIntosh officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Monday. Condolences and memories of Jane may be shared at www.hinsey-brown.com.
