Janet L Crider

Janet L Crider, 93, of Shirley passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Morristown Manor in Morristown, Indiana. She was born January 16, 1931 in New Castle to the late Luther and Zola (Beeson) Williams. 

A homemaker, Janet traveled with her husband Jim as a song evangelist for many years. An accomplished musician, she enjoyed playing several instruments. Janet was a life-long member of the Shirley Church of the Nazarene where she served as the church treasurer for 27 years.  

She leaves to cherish her memory her children; Cheryl (husband, Rev Tim) Bender of Shelbyville, TN, Jean (husband, Mike) Huff of Wilkinson, Janelle Sue (companion, Rocky Whisman) McGaughey, both of New Castle, Michael (wife, Sherri) Crider of Greenfield, Sharron (husband, Kevin) Stewart of New Palestine and Karen (husband, Bryan) Cook of Whitestown; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James E Crider in 2015; three brothers, Gerald, Charles and Harold Williams; three sisters, Sarah Stout, Rosemary and Helen Williams.  

Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Pastors Tim Bender and Brad Hacker. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until the time of the service on Tuesday.
