Janet M. Meyer

Janet M. Meyer, age 72, formerly of New Castle, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2012 in Hastings, Nebraska. She was born May 16, 1940 in Mooreland, Indiana to the late Emmett and Elsie (Gulley) Ankrom.

A 1958 graduate of Mooreland High School, she was a homemaker and had various part time jobs in the area. She had lived in the Hagerstown area for over 33 years. She cherished the memories created when spending time with her children and grandchildren. A horse enthusiast, she was a member of the Circle H Saddle Club. Also dear to her heart were her dogs, Keyla, Czar, and Donna.

Survivors include a daughter, Janelle M. (husband, Dennis) Trausch of Roseland, NE, a son, Robbie W. (wife, Michelle) Meyer of Summitville, IN, nine grandchildren, Christopher, Daniel, Ashley, Benjamin, Jacob and Elizabeth of Roseland NE, Steven of Ohio, Samantha and Danielle, Summitville; siblings, Merle (wife, Darlene) Ankrom of PA and Mary (husband, Tom) Current of New Castle; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Dustin Meyer; husband, Robert C. Meyer; brothers, Wayne, Robert, and Mendel Ankrom.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rev. Thomas Current officiating. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2012 at the funeral home.
