Jason “JJ” Griffith, age 32, of New Castle, passed away unexpectedly due to complications of diabetes, Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at his residence. He was born June 26, 1979 in Muncie, Indiana to Mark A. and Beth A. (Sheridan) Griffith.
A 1998 graduate of New Castle High School. He was employed at the Delaware County Jail for the past 5 years and at Gibson Skating Arena in New Castle. He was an avid Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox and Indianapolis Colts fan. He loved spending time with his family, friends and his dog, Daisy.
Survivors include his parents, Mark and Beth Griffith of New Castle; brother, Josh (wife, Lauren) Griffith of Nashville, TN; grandparents, George and Ann Sheridan of Muncie and Mattie Griffith of Kiln, MS; great aunt, Patty Gibson of Anderson; aunt, Becky (husband, Phil) Hazelbaker and their children, Jeremy Hazelbaker and Danielle Hazelbaker (fiancé, Keith Sofiak); uncles, George (wife, Christie) Sheridan, Jr. and children, Olivia and Natalie, Tom Sheridan, and uncle Mike (wife, Rhonda) Griffith.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Roy Griffith.
Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rory Bond and Rex Peckinpaugh officiating. Service will be followed by a graveside service at South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition with full law enforcement honors from the Delaware County Sheriffs Department.
