Jason Michael Helm

Jason Michael Helm, 35, of Tarkastad, South Africa, passed away June 18, 2016 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born February 17, 1981 in Muskegon, MI a son of Mark and Kathy (Hubbard) Helm.

Jason graduated from Lakeview Christian School in 1999 and Indiana Wesleyan University with a degree in Intercultural Studies. Jason lived a life of service. He dedicated 10 years to serving in Mozambique, Africa in various capacities. When he was not serving in ministry, teaching, mentoring and being a friend, he would be out enjoying God’s creation by climbing a mountain or hunting.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Rachel (Gross) Helm and three children, Tristan, Jocelyne and Logan Helm all of Tarkastad, South Africa; his parents, Rev. Mark and Kathy Helm, Pastor at Sunnycrest United Methodist Church in Marion; siblings, Jeffrey (Tammy) Helm and children, Alyssa and Jacob of San Antonio, TX; James (Ciara) Helm of San Antonio, TX; Jenna (Daniel) McMullen of Anderson; father and mother-in-law, Lenville and Leanna Gross of Shirley; grandparents, Ruth Anna Helm of Anderson, Leon and Jean Hubbard of Marion; several uncles, aunts, cousins and a host of friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be at 3:00 PM Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Memorial Wesleyan Church, 2701 N Memorial Drive, New Castle, IN with Pastor Paul Kirk and Dr. Jim Lo officiating. Visitation will be from 12-3 PM. Local arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
