Jason "Jay" Carl Barnes

Jason Carl Barnes, 49, of Lambertville, MI passed away August 30, 2024 at Toledo Hospital, in Ohio. Also known as “Jay” to many, a nickname mom and dad started when he was young. He was born June 26, 1975 in Rushville, a son of David and Denise (Warrick) Barnes. He had 5 children and a granddaughter that were his world.

Jay grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and attended Brownsburg Community School. He was an automotive mechanic from the age of 16, working at many different dealerships/auto shops which included Chrysler dealerships for many years achieving several certifications including a Viper technician. He loved music and was a great guitarist playing in many bands, a couple of which included him and his Dad (who also played guitar). Jay also enjoyed fishing and cooking. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his first wife, Jennifer (Sevier) Barnes; their children, Tyler and Danielle Barnes; a granddaughter, Braelynn; second wife, Amanda (Harmeson) Barnes; their children, Nicholas, Liam and Faith Barnes; fiancé, Laura Judson and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his brother, David Forrest Barnes that he missed terribly; his grandparents, Forrest and Carolyn (Meek) Warrick.

Jay’s final contribution to help others was that he was an organ donor. 

Graveside services will be at 12:00 PM Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Glen Cove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, 7355 S. State Rd 109 Knightstown, IN 46148 to offset funeral expenses. It is requested that attendees wear casual attire. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel.
