Lois Jean Goolsby, age 72, of New Castle passed away Friday, October 15, 2010 at Glen Oaks following a brief illness. She was born on March 19, 1938 in Sparta, Tennessee to Tommie Edward and Gordia Lee Clouse.
Jean worked as a nurse at Henry County Hospital in the OB delivery department for 26 years, retiring in 2003. Jean was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include four children: Cheryl Ann (husband, Rex) Brumley of Winchester, Indiana, Ruth Goolsby of Bellaire, Texas, Steven (wife, Darla) Goolsby of Missouri City, Texas and David Edward (wife, Melinda) Goolsby of New Castle; grandchildren: Galen Brumley, Grant, Jared, Leah, Kyle and Tyler Goolsby; a brother: Gordon “Buck†(wife, Barbara) Clouse of New Castle; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by the father of her children Thomas E. Goolsby; her husband Donald E. Goolsby; and by her parents, Tommie Edward and Gordia Lee Clouse; also by a brother and sister-in-law, Glynn and Mary Lou Clouse; and a grandson, Clayton Brumley.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Phil Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Blountsville Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday, October 18, 2010 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society with envelopes available at the funeral home.
