Jean Meek, 70, of Lewisville, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born August 16, 1938 in Dunreith, IN daughter of William Carl and Helen (Smith) Berry.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Dunreith. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great nephew. She loved playing Bingo. She also enjoyed attending high school basketball games.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years: Miles Meek; one daughter: Tammy (husband: Jeff) Griggs of Knightstown; two sons: Jeff Meek of Knightstown and Eugene (wife: Debbie) Meek of Knightstown; five grandchildren: Heather, Eric, and Randy Meek; Josh and Ashley Griggs; one great nephew: Braylen Stanley; one sister: Patty (husband: Robbie) Lefforge of Lewisville; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant son: Richard Meek.
Services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, October 24, 2008 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Thursday, October 23, 2008. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jean Meek Memorial Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home.
