Jeanette Kay Curless, 65, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Hancock Regional Hospital following a seven month courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 6, 1951 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Hilva Turner and Frances E. (Cleghorn) Swim.
A 1969 graduate of Blue River Valley Jr.-Sr. High School, she was also a 1970 graduate from Beauty School of Anderson. Jeanette retired from the banking industry following 32 years of service. Prior to retirement, Jeanette served as the Vice President over the loan department at Ameriana Bank. She loved her banking years, where she enjoyed meeting and working with people. After retirement, Jeanette’s enjoyment was spending time with her grandson, Logan and shopping trips with her granddaughters, Morgan and Chelsea, to the mall. She looked forward to Sunday’s where she enjoyed meeting with her friends at First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Steven Curless of New Lisbon; children, Scott A. Weaver of Spiceland; grandchildren, Morgan M. Weaver, Chelsea N. Weaver, and Logan Scott Weaver all of Spiceland; brother Gary T. (Vicki) Turner of Elwood; sister, Laua (Gary) Anderson of Ft. Wayne; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Jerry Ingalls officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the funeral home.
