Jeffrey Glenn Mathis

Jeffrey Glenn Mathis, 63, of Muncie passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at IU Health Methodist Hospital following a two-year battle with esophageal cancer. He was born September 18, 1960 in Muncie to Glenn Russell and Judith Kay (Taylor) Mathis-Day.

Jeff was a 1979 graduate of Wapahani High School then joined the US Army, serving four years while stationed in Germany. He worked at Borg Warner for many years. Jeff enjoyed working on cars for anyone in need and especially loved working on the electrical systems.  He also loved his dogs.

He is survived by his mother, Judy (husband, Don) Day; a brother, Doug (wife, Kim) Mathis; niece, Gwen Mathis; nephew, Sam Mathis; close high school friend, Rev. Flint Redwine and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, Glenn Mathis and a niece, Gabi Mathis.
