Jerald "Jerry" Michael Glaser

December 17, 1954 — February 10, 2025

Mooreland

Jerald “Jerry” Michael Glaser, 70, of Mooreland, Indiana, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, February 10, 2025, while surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 17, 1954, in New Castle, Jerry was the son of the late Carroll and Aurie Mae (Collins) Glaser.

He was a 1973 graduate of Union High School and earned a business degree from Ivy Tech in Muncie. Jerry dedicated 28 years to the Stoney Creek Township Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as Captain. He was also a past president of the Whitewater Valley Antique Tractor Association and the Blountsville Lions Club. A pillar of the community, Jerry could always be found lending a helping hand whether assisting a neighbor or working late at the Mooreland Fair tractor pull.

Jerry had a deep love for tractor pulling and cherished evening Ranger rides to spot bald eagles or visit Matt’s house to pet his dogs. He had a special gift with children, many of whom affectionately, to this day, call him “Pop”. Known for his kindness and generous compliments, he also had a mischievous and ornery side that was endearing him to all who knew him.

A man of many trades, Jerry worked for Midwest Towel (Cintas), Bill McCoy Ford, and as a correctional officer at CIC Pendleton before retiring in 2011. In his retirement, he enjoyed working at Keesling Farms, where he spent invaluable time alongside his son, Matt.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Jody; his son, Matthew (wife: Brook); daughter, Aimee (husband Seth); he was Pop to his cherished grandchildren, Madelyne and Brycen Glaser, Casen and Hudson Davis; brothers, Tom and Ric (Merry) Glaser, along with several special nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by brothers, Fred and Jack Glaser and special friend, Mike Lykens.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. II Timothy 4:7
