Jerry L. Ferguson

Jerry L. Ferguson, 70, of New Castle passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022 at The Waters of New Castle. He was born May 27, 1951 in Henry County, a son of the late Robert H. and Fay H. (Helm) Ferguson.

Jerry was a 1969 graduate of New Castle High School and attended Vincennes University. He worked at Allegheny Steel for eight years then partnered with his father at the family owned Ferguson Cabinet Shop and retired from Patriot Engineering in Indianapolis. He loved sports, including the Pacers, Colts and Reds. Most of all he loved attending his sons' ballgames.

Survivors include his son, Derrick (Cristen) Ferguson of Charlotte, North Carolina ; grandchildren, Will and Samantha Ferguson of Charlotte, North Carolina, nephew, Shawn Ferguson of North Carolina; two cousins, Gene (Toni) Lowhorn and Wanda (Darrell) Gross, both of New Castle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bobbie Ferguson.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with his son, Derrick Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
