Jerry W. Lowe

Jerry W. Lowe, age 73, of New Castle, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013 at his home. He was born November 19, 1940 in New Castle to the late Alonzo and Elizabeth (Davis) Lowe.
A man who lived his life big! Jerry was a country musician who performed with various well known artists such as George Jones, Conway Twitty and Dottie West. Among his proudest accomplishments was having recorded an album in Nashville with a Top 20 Hit. He had a huge heart and for years he put on Christmas shows at the Indiana Soldiers' and Sailors' Children's Home making sure each child had a gift.
He had a love for racing and won many trophies at Mt. Lawn and Anderson Speedway. He owned and operated The Round-Up in Indianapolis and Jerry Lowe's Place in New Castle in the 70's and 80's. In his latter years he had many adventures as an Over The Road Truck Driver.
Left to treasure his memory is his wife and three daughters, Kristina Lowe of New Castle, whom he married November 13, 1997; Rhonda (Dudley) Hellard of Shirley, Sha (Kelly) Ridenour of New Castle and Amy (Stacy) Pickering McNulty-Lowe of Atlanta; step-children Gayle Gilliam and Bobby Huckeby; grandchildren, Chris (Brooke) Haggard, J.D. (Betty) Blankenship, Brooke (Jason) Riddle, Graycen and Hudson McNulty-Lowe; nine great grandchildren; siblings, Audrey Upchurch and Danny (Lil) Lowe of New Castle, Bobbie Sue (Jim) Johnson of Warsaw, Sharon Kay Brewer of Bloomfield, IN; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Jim Lowe, Raymond Lowe, Stanley Lowe and Dallas Calvin "Jackie Boy" Lowe; sisters: Sarah Bell Thompson, Mildred Wolf and Jeanette.
Services will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Randy Gross officiating. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Henry County Humane Society, 11 Midway Dr., New Castle, IN 47362.
