Jerry D. McCutcheon, age 68, of Anderson, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2011 at St. Johns Medical Center in Anderson. He was born June 12, 1943 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Oren and Bertie (Turner) McCutcheon.
He was a 1961 graduate of Walter P. Chrysler High School. He was employed at Firestone, Dana and retired from the State of Indiana as a correctional officer. He was an avid fisherman, loved his children and grandchildren, yard work and enjoyed wintering in Texas for the past four years. He was a member of the Heartland Sam’s Chapter 76 Camping Club and was a strong union man for Dana Corporation where he was a former vice president. He was a Green Bay Packers fan and his fondest Packers moment was going to Lambeau Field with his daughter Julie.
Survivors include his wife, Donna (Mort) McCutcheon of Anderson; three daughters, April Jean McCutcheon of Franklin, TN, Julie Ann (husband, Hugo) Cardenas of Walla Walla, WA and Amber Jo (husband, Robert) Hostettler of Franklin, TN; stepson, Luke (wife, Eva) Bond of Shirley; grandchildren, Ciara, Caleb, Jacey, Baden, Savana and Sofie Jo; sister, Linda (husband, Garry) Williams of New Castle; aunt, Lucile Phillips of Louisville; nephew, Mike (wife, Sandy) Williams of Laurenburg, NC; niece, Melissa (husband, Paul) Burk of New Castle; several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Kenny York officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Riley Hospital for Children, 705 Barnhill Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46202 with envelopes available at the funeal home.
