Jerry M. Pence

Jerry M. Pence, 82, of New Castle passed away Thursday, March 6, 2025 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born July 17, 1942 in New Castle to the late George M. and Marguerite (Retz) Pence.

Jerry retired from Chrysler Corp. in 1999 after 33 years of service. A member of the UAW, Jerry enjoyed woodcarving, NASCAR races, collecting antique cars and traveling. One of his greatest joys was helping his son build their home. Jerry loved his family and had a fondness spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patricia Kay “Pat” (Dick) Pence; grandchildren, Alex M. (Madison) Pence of Lewisville, Andrew (Emily) Pence of Knightstown, Amanda Masters of Centerville and Ryan Snowden (fiancé, Marissa Norman) of Straughn; great-grandchildren, Carter M. and Callee Kay Pence, Hayden Pence, Waylon Pence, Lileigh Burton, Elise Oliver, Bentley Snowden, Ava, Thea, Wrenlee Snowden; daughter-in-law Tara Pence; sisters, Joyce Thompson and Jackie Hibbard, of New Castle and Sharon (Jack) Lundy of Hagerstown; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two children, Angela Pence and Lance Pence and a sister, Barbara (Charles) Davis.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Paul Gearhardt officiating. Burial will follow in New Lisbon Cemetery.
