Jesse Sanders, 29, of Greenfield, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013 at Community Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born December 5, 1983 in Maryland the son of Jerry (wife, Dawn) Sanders of Virginia and Polly (stepfather, Tim) Harwood of Shirley.
A 2002 graduate of Knightstown High School, Jesse was a hard worker and was currently employed at Keihin of Greenfield. He had worked at Pelican Industries of Mt. Comfort for over 5 years. He was a NASCAR fan and his friends are going to have an auction on May 11, 2013 at the Anderson Speedway in honor of Jesse to benefit his family. Jesse loved helping people, that was his main goal, and it would make his day to help someone. He always woke up with a smile, was high spirited and fun. He was a great father and husband. He enjoyed bonfires, cookouts, working on cars, exercising and spending time with friends.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife: Elizabeth Sanders of Greenfield; three children: Jeffery Vincent of Florida, Tyler and Triston Blackshear of Greenfield; sister: Jennifer (husband, James) Quinn of Wilkinson and her children, Cameron, Harley and Brooke; brother: Steve (wife, Brittany) Sanders of Knightstown and his children, Marcus and Lindsey; sister: Nicole (husband, Tyler) Smith of Shirley; sister: Brittany Harwood of Shirley; brothers: Jerry Sanders, Jr. and Jacob Sanders of Virginia; paternal grandmother: Margaret (husband, Marvin) Sanders of Middletown; maternal grandmother: Karen Vaughn of Texas; paternal great grandmother: Miriam Russell of Middletown.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: George Sanders, and maternal grandfather: Douglas Vaughn.
Services will be at 6:00 PM Friday, March 15, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Ryan McCarty officiating. Friends may call from 4-6 PM prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jesse Sanders Memorial Fund c/o Wilkinson Church of Christ with envelopes available at the funeral home.
