J. Helena (Garner) Clark, 69, of New Castle passed away unexpectedly Sunday, December 24, 2012 in her home. She was born June 18, 1943 in Albany, Clinton County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Jesse L. and Clariene (Teal) Garner.
She had worked as a nurse’s aide for over 21 years, last working at The Woodland’s in Muncie. She had also worked as a server at Bill’s Diner and Barb’s Restaurant, both in New Castle. An avid NASCAR fan, she enjoyed quilting and watching football.
She is survived by a son, Dean Anthony (wife, Monica) Clark of New Castle; a daughter, Dana M. Garner of New Castle; two brothers, Nuell (wife, Linda) Garner, and Kelly (wife, Margie) Garner, both of New Castle; a sister, Patsy (husband, Robert) Brumfiel of Muncie; grandchildren, Jared Clark, B.K. Kaelber, Christopher Clark, Amber Clark, Taylor, Tyler and Skyler; several great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Christopher “Bo” Clark; two brothers, Leon Garner and Huel Garner; a granddaughter, Stephanie Renee Clark.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 31, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with the Reverend Elwood Evans officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the J.
