Jewell Leveridge, 88, of New Castle passed away Monday, July 18, 2016 at Henry County Hospital. She was born May 9, 1928 in Albany, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Lonnie and Vertie (Flatt) Thomas.
She had been employed at Brooks Foods in Mt. Summit for several years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and flowers. A loving wife and mother, she was also a good neighbor. Jewell loved spending time with her grandchildren, and had a love for cats.
Survivors include three children, Linda (Daniel) Hunsinger of Greenfield, Nancy (Mark G.) Doyle of Carmel and David (Julia) Leveridge of Pendleton; grandchildren, Lisa (Greg) Bauer, Dana (Mark) Benbow, Carly Doyle (Justin Hanson), Lindsay Leveridge and Sarah Leveridge; great grandchildren, Jake (Megan) Bauer, Ellen Bauer, Nora Bauer, Davis Knight, Eli Knight, Nolan Benbow and Ainsley Hanson; and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Leveridge in 1994; an infant son, Charles Wayne Leveridge; two grandchildren, James Doyle in 2005 and Kimberly Doyle in 2015; siblings, Ida Conner and James Thomas.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Mark Herbkersman officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
