JoAnn Bridges

JoAnn Bridges, 78, of Knightstown, passed away on November 1, 2009. She was born on May 25, 1931 to Paul and Kathleen Bullard in New Castle. She married Lowell Bridges in 1948. They had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in June, 2008.

JoAnn was a lifetime member of the Knightstown United Methodist Church, Knightstown American Legion Auxiliary, and attended Knightstown High School. JoAnn worked for many years at Mayhill Publications. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her dogs, Muffy and Petey, family parties, shopping, and traveling.

Survivors include her son, Steve (Margie) Bridges, daughters, Susie (Devin) Keefer, and Beth (Carlos) Rigdon, all of Knightstown. She is also survived by her sisters, Winifred Williams and Patricia Applegate, grandchildren, Staci (Doug) Emerson, Monica Locker, Melanie Lingenfelter, Matt Bridges, Nikki Bridges, Zach Bridges, Crystal (Jason) White, Molly Rigdon, Shawna Rigdon, Kyly (Brandon) Moore, and D.J. Keefer, great-grandchildren, Sy, Seth, Wes, Dakota, Madison, and Nichole, best friend, Joan Browning, and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Lowell (2009), son, Ron Bridges (2003), grandson, Ty (Vickie) Bridges (2005), great-grandson, Andrew Bennett (2009), and brother, James Bullard (1991).

Calling will be held at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Home Knightstown Chapel on Wednesday, November 4 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Services will take place at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Home on Thursday, November 5 at 11:00 a.m. with burial following at Knightstown Glen Cove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Autism Society of Indiana, Parkinson’s Awareness Association of Central Indiana, or Henry County Humane Society with envelopes available at the funeral home.
