JoAnn Schlehuser

JoAnn (Mann) Schlehuser, 97 of New Castle passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. She was born on December 17, 1926 in Sulphur Springs, IN to the late Howard and Bernice Mann.

JoAnn was a graduate of Sulphur Springs High School. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church as well as Eastern Star. JoAnn was employed with REMC and was a teacher’s aide at Eastwood Elementary.  Her greatest joy was her family, especially her granddaughters.

She is survived by 2 sons, Michael (Robin) Schlehuser of New Castle and Alan Schlehuser of Indianapolis; daughter, Leesa (David) Olsen of New Castle; grandchildren, Sara (Chris) Dalton of Abilene, TX, Emily (Andrew) Svenson of Fishers, IN, Lindsey (Chris) Wilkey of New Castle, IN; great grandchildren, Logan and Parker Dalton, Amelia and Jack Svenson and Daniel Wilkey.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Burrl Schlehuser; step father, Emerson Pearson; sister, Betty Mann; several Aunts and Uncles.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Southern Hospice Care and Glen Oaks for their loving care of JoAnn.

Services will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Deacon Jody Winter officiating.  Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn addition. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Memorial Contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at 535 S. 14^th Street, New Castle, IN 47362.
