Joe D. Campbell

Joe D. Campbell, 90, of New Castle passed away Friday, January 17, 2025. He was born November 13, 1934 in Wayne County, Kentucky to the late Dallas and Pauline (Armstrong) Campbell.

Joe was a 1954 graduate of Hagerstown High School and a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was proud member of the Hagerstown American Legion Post #333. Joe retired from Dana Corp. in 1986 following more than 31 years of service. He was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast and has owned several bikes through the years. He took pride in his home and always could be seen working around his yard. Joe was a longtime member of the Grand Avenue Baptist Church.

He is survived by the love of his life, whom he was married to for over 67 years, Barbara Campbell; daughter, Beverly (Chris) Price; grandchildren, Stephanie Walker, Brandon (Stephanie) Bevins; great grandchildren, Emma Walker, Ava Walker, Brody Bevins and Lydia Bevins; sister, Ruby Christine Wilson and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Kenneth, Kendrick, Charley, Jay and Oscar Campbell, Tena Frost and Irene Persinger.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastors Charles Dugger and Tony Piper officiating.
